Boise Dance Co-op is the brain child of Ballet Idaho ballerina Phyllis Rothwell Affrunti and contemporary dancer and choreographer Jason Hartley. Boise Dance Co-op is a collaborative comprised of professional dancers and artists from companies in the Treasure Valley including Ballet Idaho, Trey McIntyre, Idaho Dance Theatre, Off Center Dance, Balance, and more.
With performance seasons for most companies on hiatus in the summer months, dancers have few opportunities to grow and share their talents with the Treasure Valley community. BDC was founded as a vehicle for professional dancers to continue to dance and be inspired. Within this collaboration, art has been created that may have otherwise laid dormant.
The Boise community has been truly amazing in their support of local artists. BDC is thrilled to be giving back to the city in a new and exciting way. Every show is a new experience, for Boise and BDC.
